Here is a very clear example of how Fronts are shown. The red one is the warm front moving in a Southeast direction and the cold one is blue and is moving Southwest. The arrows represent the direction the wind is pushing them towards.

 The picture above is a cold front that has split into two parts, or otherwise know as a Squall Line. These fronts can cause tornadoes to form during the summertime.




This is an occluded front example. You can see clearly that the warm and cold fronts meet under one another. Notice how the direction they move in is counterclockwise. These can cause a cyclone and/or funnel cloud.


And here's another occluded front example.These rotate in a counteclockwise direction.
